Butane Lighters Are Best

Most people who enjoy smoking pipes or cigars prefer butane tobacco lighters. Butane fuel purportedly leaves less fuel aftertaste on the tobacco being smoked. These types of lighters are also safer, as their flame by-products consist only of carbon dioxide and water. Butane lighters also eject a hotter flame than other lighter fluids. This is apparent from the bluish color of butane-generated flames.  Other fuels emit orange flames. Manufacturers increasingly offer butane lighters as part of their product lines.

Pipes are especially amenable for butane use because flames eject in a single direction instead of going multiple ways as do traditional lighters. Standard pipe lighters have heightened difficulties since their flames tend to veer in whatever direction the lighter is held. This can cause hand burns and other injury. Butane flames always eject upward, thereby reducing the risk of hand injuries. This feature also enables the user to hold the lighter away from the mouth while lighting a cigar and permits passing the lighter from one hand to another while lit.

The strong, straight pattern of butane flame ejection permits much easier lighting of pipes and cigars. These lighters are available in windproof models that feature a broader housing and are thus more difficult for air gusts to extinguish or flicker. These models may be used in windy weather or other exterior conditions that would extinguish other flames. Flame configurations may be single, double, triple, or quadruple. The specific circumstances under which use is planned dictates the best option.

Various styles of butane lighters exist on the market. There are relatively elegant brands. These high-class models are made for smokers who want to project a refined, classy persona. Their cost, however, is relatively high at about $50 USD apiece. Neither is butane inexpensive. Different types of butane lighters feature various styles.

Vintage varieties may be silver or silver-plated with monogrammed designs that resemble those of older lighters. Novelty styles might feature humor, gothic, mystical, or even rustic-type insignia. Flames have even been seen to eject from dragons' mouths. Style is only one potentially positive feature of butane lighters. Their popularity is also attributable to the individuality that users may represent through their use.

The exterior appearance of a butane lighter depends upon specific body design. Standard or regular butane lighters are essentially very small rounded cubes with tops that users may flip open to reveal the internal ignition mechanism. This is typically accomplished with an arm-like device that is finger-operated. Other butane lighters are designed for use with pipes and have specialized grips similar to pistols.  This permits holding the device in any direction desired to accomplish combustion.

Through careful selection of the best butane lighter for your particular needs, you can watch as your friends standby and burn with envy while you enjoy your pipe or cigar smoking experience in superb satisfaction!
